A wedgie is the act of forcibly pulling on a person's underwear upwards from the back, forcing the fabric into the intergluteal cleft uncomfortably. It is often done as a form of bullying.

Background

Wedgies are commonly featured in media as a form of low comedy or behavioral representation of bullying.

Appeal

Wedgies are often done as a form of bullying as a way to humiliate the sub. Some also find the particular sensation of underwear being pulled to be pleasurable.

Methods

Although almost all types of underwear can be used for wedgies, briefs, especially white briefs ("tighty whities") are most commonly used.

Many enjoy the spontaneity of receiving a wedgie unexpectedly. This is often done through the use of prior negotiation, including signals like a particular type of underwear. Sometimes, subs will use other indicators such as an exposed waistband in conjunction with a sign or shirt.

Risks

  • Damage to underwear
  • Testicular or scrotal damage
  • Skin abrasion in the intergluteal cleft

Risk mitigation

Use particular care when performing wedgies on subs who are wearing a chastity cage because this can cause increased stress on the testicles.

The use of lube can help mitigate the risk of skin abrasion in the intergluteal cleft.

Known incidents

There was an incident in the UK in 2004 involving a ten-year-old boy that required reattachment of a testicle to the scrotum.[1]
